It’s gearing up to be a great Show to celebrate 40 years of Woolcraft with a record-breaking number of 360 entries in the Woolcraft Competition! Every state in Australia is represented along with international representation from New Zealand. Volunteers can’t wait to start unpacking the parcels to view the well-crafted exhibits for judging day next Wednesday. There will be many oohs and aahs! Be sure to make the Art and Craft Pavilion your first stop at the show to view the competition winners and a special 40 years of Woolcraft exhibit.
Just a reminder that Woolcraft Competition Entries close at 4:30 p.m. on Friday 15 June 2012. Please do not send exhibits with entry.
See Competition for additional details, including the Woolcraft Schedule and Entry Form.
It has come to the attention of the Woolcraft Committee that some people are of the understanding that Australian wool must be used in the Woolcraft Competition.
This is most definitely incorrect.
However, if Australian wool is used and this must be proven, your exhibit will bear extra consideration in the judging for Special Prizes. See page 4 of the Woolcraft Schedule 2012 under Special Prizes for additional information.
There will be a drop-off box at the Handweavers and Spinners Guild of Victoria (655 Nicholson Street, Carlton North, VIC 3054 Australia) for exhibits to be placed ready for transport, from the Guild Meeting Day, Saturday 16th June 2012 until Wednesday 11th July 2012. Exhibits should be packaged and labelled adequately.
Collection will be available after the Show from Tuesday 24th July 2012. Please sign sheet on drop-off and pick-up of exhibits.
